Stanwood Club FAQ

FIRST, A NOTE ON PARKING: It will be difficult. Please arrive early, or at least on time. Please carpool. Please take a cab. (Which is really the best idea, considering it’s a long, relaxing evening and you’ll be drinking.)

What to expect at Stanwood Club ...
As you arrive, you’ll be greeted by Jason Black, the dashing man behind the bar. He handles the business, and by that we mean, he’ll uncork your wine and get a cocktail into your hand! Grab seat holder cards from him, and head into the house to reserve your seats. (You can stow coats, bags and things in the first bedroom down the hall.) You’ll then have time to wander the garden, chat and enjoy the first course, which generally is served outside. When dinner is called, everyone heads inside …

After dinner, those not reserved for dinner are welcome to join us in the garden for dessert and music … We believe that dessert tastes sweeter and music sounds finer when enjoyed al fresco, fireside!

Where does Stanwood Club take place?
In a garden, behind a hedge, in the heart of Hollywood, California.

What time does the event begin and how late do they go?
The dinners generally begin around 6-7pm, leading to music around 9pm til 11ish. (Times change through the season.)

What is included in the price for the dinner?
Dinner price includes a 5- to 7-course meal and entertainment. Wine is BYOB, and we’ll make wine suggestions to accompany the meal. (The Seder menu is more expansive.)

Is there a waitlist for sold out events?
YES! Though we sell out every Stanwood, life does sometimes open up empty seats at the last minute. Please get your name on the wait list!

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Feel free to ask questions before you RSVP … we’ll see if we can get it sorted.

Do you publish the menu before dinner?
No way! The invitation will suggest very generally what to expect. If you have concerns, please e-mail. The menu generally isn’t confirmed until the last minute … sometimes inspiration waits!

Does Stanwood Club do private events?
Of course! Just imagine your own evening of dinner, music, warmth and magic at your own home, or an inspired brunch, wowing your own friends or clients!

How many people will be there?
We seat roughly 40 folks for dinner, which includes the musicians. After dinner, a bunch more folks stop by for dessert and music.

How do I pay?
Dinner reservations are confirmed once you Paypal to stanwoodclub@gmail.com

But bring some scratch the night of the event for some refreshing Stanwood Iced Tea (known to promote health and fertility!). And, since the musicians are singing for their supper, and dine on the house, you’re welcome to donate a few bucks toward the cause.

If the location is secret … how will I know where I’m going?
We send out proper confirmations, with all the details, after you Paypal.
